More than 50 years ago, my dad opened our home location in Lakewood. I was just five years old, running around a concrete shop with no bells or whistles—just a dream in motion.

As I got older, I’d spend my summers working there. I’ll never forget the year my dad got me my first uniform—he was so excited, probably more than I was. It was like a rite of passage for him, seeing his son step into the family business. Every summer after that, he’d leave me a pile of tasks, and I’d learn something new—about taking care of people, about hard work, and of course-cars.

That shop helped raise me. And it changed with time—just like I did.

This past March, that same shop was hit by arson. Vehicles were affected, and more than anything, so many memories tied to that place were shaken—for me, for our team, and for our customers. Thankfully, insurance covered the damages.

Here are three quick tips to help you survive Memorial Day road travel:

Get on the road early.

This one may seem obvious, but we’re talking early. We know this is a relative term, but you should aim to be at your destination by 3pm on Friday at the latest. Of course, leaving first thing on Friday morning is best. For your trip home, plan to leave on Monday, which generally sees the lightest flow of traffic.

Prepare the kids.

For all steps, turn on your vehicle and ensure your vehicle is in park:
Check your headlights: you’ll turn on your headlights then exit the vehicle to visually check that both headlights are properly illuminated. Also turn on your high beam to ensure both are functioning. Remember, do not use high beams within the city, rain, or fog, it can distract other drivers and hinder your visibility.
Check your fog lights: here, you’ll turn on your fog lights then exit the vehicle to visually check that both fog lights are equally illuminated.
Check your hazard lights: just press the button on your dashboard that is shaped like a triangle to turn your hazard lights on. Step out of your vehicle to make sure that the lights are blinking on both sides of your vehicle.
Check your taillights, and you’ll want to enlist the help of a friend for this one! Tap on the breaks and have a friend make sure that both lights located at the rear of your vehicle are properly illuminated.
Check your turn signals: simply activate your left turn signal and check the signal within your dashboard is functioning. Then exit the vehicle and visually check that the left turn signal is properly blinking in the front and rear of the vehicle. Repeat these steps for the right side.

Another simple task is to check and/or replace your wiper blades. It’s important to ensure that your wiper blades are still working effectively after clearing snow and rain from the winter months . If your wiper blades are frayed, ripped, or are leaving streaks on your windshield it is critical for your safety to change them. Follow these simple steps to check the wiper blades of your vehicle and replace them if necessary:

Turn on your wiper blades, then listen and look at how your wiper blades clean your windshield.

How to replace the wiper blades:

Remove the old wiper blades by pulling up on a clip on top of the wiper blade or pushing down on a small tab on the side of the wiper blade.

While we might have a few frosty days again, most of the coldest months are behind us and it’s time to prevent unnecessary repairs and expenses by performing the annual ritual of spring auto maintenance and inspection. Small, hidden problems could get big if you don’t examine your vehicle after the spring thaw.

One critical auto care step is about more than just looking good for road trips in the spring. It is also about maintaining resale value and keeping the grime from doing long term damage to the body of your vehicle. A good cleaning will reveal minor dings and chips in the paint, which are magnets for costly and all-consuming rust. Professionals tend to recommend hand washing instead of convenience car washes, which can neglect details but still cost $5 to $30 depending on the package and the size of your vehicle. In a rainy area like the PNW, invest in some quality care care products, and take advantage of those nice days by hand-washing your vehicle regularly. The act of washing your car will get you familiar with the scratches and dings that may already exist, so you can be more aware of new blemishes.

Thawing, freezing, and scraping over icy windshields can cause wiper blades to warp, bend, and crack. Measure the old blades and check the car’s manual for the correct size before removing the old ones to install new ones, which should cost (on average) between $8 to $25. Always have your replacements on hand before removing the old ones in case you have to leave quickly since the weather can be unpredictable. We recommend that you replace blades once in the fall and once in the spring.

Unfortunately, some drivers first realize they have a light out when a police officer pulls them over to tell them so (and possibly issue a ticket for this infraction). Spring is the perfect time to examine mirrors for cracks, and to have a friend or family member activate headlights, taillights, reverse lights, brake lights, parking lights, fog lights, and turn signals while you do a visual inspection. If you’re noticing other drivers flashing their lights at you when you’re out driving, they may be indicating to you that something doesn’t look right. Be sure you check it out.

Roads in winter are salty and sandy and generally just gross, and washer fluid doubles as a de-icer for those days when the temperature seems to hover right around 33 degrees. Driving along at 70 MPH on the highway with compromised visibility is not the time to discover you’re out of fluid. Windshield washer fluid is available at most grocery and convenience stores in a gallon size, so be sure to pick some up to keep on hand. February may be the shortest month of the year, but that certainly doesn’t make it the least interesting. In fact, did you know that National Battery Day falls on February 18th? Did you even know there was such a thing as National Battery Day?! Well, you’re in luck.

The term battery was first coined by Benjamin Franklin in his efforts to describe an array of glass particles that are charged. This was in 1748. Alessandro Volta was a physicist, chemist and a pioneer of electrical science. He is most famous for his invention of the electric battery. In brief he invented the first electric battery – which people then called the “voltaic pile” – in 1800. Using his invention, scientists were able to produce steady flows of electric current for the first time, unleashing a wave of new discoveries and technologies.

Today, you’ll find batteries everywhere! Cars can’t function without them, nor can phones, or computers or just about anything that keeps us connected to the modern world. National Battery Day is a commemoration of Alessandro Volta’s birthday, which fell on February 18th.

In the 21st Century, we rarely think about portable, and therefore mobile, electricity especially owing to the fact that batteries are easily accessible even in local stores. The PNW has seen a fair amount of rain in the past few weeks. Rain, hilly terrain, and heavy ground saturation can build up to create bigger challenges than normal commuting brings us on a daily basis. Driving in the rain is no fun. The visibility is poor, the roads are slick. All you want to do is get to where you’re going and off of the wet roads. Not surprisingly, rainy days are some of the most dangerous days to drive. The road conditions are adverse. Other drivers often don’t know how to safely control their vehicles.

Driving in the rain doesn’t need to be as difficult or scary as it initially seems. Follow some basic tips for safe driving to make operating a car in the rain a safe and comfortable experience. It’s worth noting that many of the other drivers you encounter on the road may not drive as comfortably and safely in the rain as you will. If you can avoid driving in extremely adverse weather conditions, it’s probably a good idea to do so.

The most important things when driving in the rain are to give the road your undivided attention and to not drive unless you are completely comfortable. If you do these two things, and follow these guidelines, you’ll be just fine in the rain.

Make sure that your tires are good for rainy weather. The part of your vehicle that is most impacted by wet roads is the tires. Tires are responsible for creating traction and keeping your car in contact with the road, and when the road is slippery, their job becomes more difficult. If your tires are worn out and don’t have much grip, you’ll be a liability on wet roads, and that will put you and others on the road at risk. You don’t want that!

Keep your car well maintained with regular inspections. It’s important to always follow your maintenance schedule. This is especially important when the weather turns bad. Faltering brakes or a dead battery when the roads are wet is not the optimal time. Make sure your windshield wiper blades are new or like new. Windshield wiper blades need to be replaced now and then. If not, they will start to warp or become dull, and they’ll be ineffective at wiping rain off your windshield. Wipers get a fair amount of use in the PNW, so replacing them leading into the dark and rainy season should be high on your list. Santa usually has them in stock, so know your make and model to make sure you don’t have to make a return.

Always keep both hands on the wheel while operating your vehicle. The biggest danger when driving in the rain is that you’ll hit a pitch of water and hydroplane. Hydroplaning usually jerks the steering wheel in one direction or the other. Ensure that you have both hands on the wheel at all times to keep it from turning sharply.

Use your headlights. Rain can make it difficult for oncoming traffic to see you. Always keep your headlights on, even if it’s the middle of the day. In some states it is the law to have headlights on while driving! This is for everyone’s safety.

Roads become much more slippery when it is raining. That means your car doesn’t have the best traction. Driving your normal speed increases the chance of losing control of your car.

Rain also may increase your stopping distance when applying your brakes. Avoid tailing other drivers too closely so you know you’ll have enough stopping distance.

The returning leg of the trip, the Sunday after Thanksgiving is also one of the biggest high-risk days, as people are tired and eager to return home to prepare for work and school the next day.

We all know it’s not safe to drink and drive. But stuffing yourself with food and getting back in the car isn’t a great idea either, especially when turkey’s involved. The Thanksgiving bird is known for packing high levels of tryptophan, an amino acid that brings on sleepiness. And the side dishes that usually accompany the main course, like stuffing and pie, aren’t doing you any favors either. These carb-heavy (albeit delicious) dishes produce sleep-promoting melatonin and can add to your drowsiness.

Whether you’re traveling alone or with others, your car will likely be crammed with overnight bags and, as a good guest, gifts, plus your homemade casserole and a bottle of wine.

Besides cramping your passengers, all of those extras can become dangerous projectiles in the event of an accident. In the event of hard braking, they could pose a serious threat to your clothes. (That casserole won’t look cute on your new fall coat, and gravy won’t be fun to get out of those floor mats either.) Anytime there’s a loose object in your vehicle, it presents a danger to the vehicle occupants. So whatever you’re transporting, whether it be people, a pet or boxes, food, they should be secured. The safest spot is always in the trunk (for the goodies, not the people and pets of course).

Before you hit the road for any trip, you should prepare your vehicle for the journey. Take your car in for an overall inspection to make sure everything is in good working condition. Have your oil changed, top off all your fluids, and rotate your tires so you’re road-ready. You may even want to consider giving your car a thorough vacuuming since you’ll likely be spending many hours in it during your trip. With a clean, newly inspected vehicle, you can rest easy knowing you’ll be driving in safety and style.

Fall is just around the corner, and you can probably feel it in the air. You might be resisting the urge to kick on the heat and you may not be ready to trade your swim shorts in for a pair of thermals just yet. Even if you’re not prepared for the change in weather, your car should be.

Because seasonal changes affect your vehicle in a multitude of ways, it’s important to prepare for the transition from summer to fall. You’ll want to keep up on regular vehicle maintenance, while also paying close attention to season-specific car care tasks.

In many places, schools and businesses are starting to reopen with precautions due to the pandemic. That means you might be driving your car more this fall than you did during the summer.

Begin to make sure your vehicle is ready with the following car care tips.

Check the Wiper Blades

The fall season often brings rain (and more rain) and sometimes even snow if you maneuver up around the mountain passes. You’ll want to make sure your car’s wiper blades are in good shape to deal with these conditions.

To check the wiper blades, turn on both the wipers and windshield washers. A good set of blades should produce a streak-free sweep and leave the windshield clear.

Replace the wiper blades if they do not perform well. Decent wiper blades can usually be found in any automotive section of the stores you might be picking up school supplies in. Double check the size before you buy!

You’ll also want to consider the washer fluid. There are winter blends, which are designed to resist freezing, and summer blends for warmer weather. When the temperatures start to drop, you’ll want to make sure you have a winter blend in your car’s washer fluid reservoir.

Make Sure the Heater is Working

If you’re like most drivers, you didn’t turn your car’s heater on at all during the summer. But soon, the weather will get cold and you’ll be pining for a warm cabin once again. It’s a good idea to test your vehicle’s heater before the temperatures start to drop. Automotive heating systems rely on hot engine coolant, so if the heater is blowing cold air, you likely have a problem somewhere within the cooling system. For example, the thermostat may be stuck open, the water pump may be faulty, or the heater core could be clogged.

If you have the know-how, you can troubleshoot the problem yourself. Otherwise, you will want to have a professional diagnose and repair the issue.

Take Care of Any Outstanding Maintenance

Remember that booklet, called the owner’s manual, that’s buried in your glovebox? Dust it off and turn to the section that covers the manufacturer’s maintenance schedule⁠—you’ll find the suggested intervals for the routine services the automaker recommends.

Is your car due (or overdue) for service? Be sure to take care of it now. Lack of maintenance is one of the most common reasons for mechanical breakdowns. Regular maintenance is much less expensive than reacting to a massive mechanical issue because of neglect. Car problems left ignored often snowball into big-time concerns. For example, a leaking radiator hose can lead to a low coolant level, overheating, and catastrophic engine damage.

Parents and teachers spend a lot of time reminding students to practice safety when walking or riding their bikes to school. However, students aren’t the only ones who need to brush up on their safety skills as a new school year begins. As busses return to the roads, and in-person learning restarts, It’s imperative for drivers of all ages to reacquaint themselves with safe driving practices, too.

While some of the most dangerous days of driving belong to summer, going back to school has its own set of perils for both students and drivers alike. Taking time to remind yourself of what to watch out for, and then preparing for how to handle these situations, can go a long way toward keeping everyone safer.

Remember to allow extra time to get to school or work. There are more people on the road and speeding is still the number one cause of accidents, and was found to be a factor in more than 30% of all fatal crashes. Getting there late is better than not getting there at all. Busses and their frequent stops can slow you down, but those flashing lights are there to keep our littlest ones safe!

Even though it sounds obvious, save calls and texts for after arriving safely at your destination – nothing is that important, and if it is, pull over. Eating, putting on makeup and searching for music all add to the horrific statistics for casualties and injuries.

All too often, drivers are distracted or not paying attention and drive into school zones too quickly — even though warning signs, speed bumps and flashing lights let them know they’re approaching a school zone. Learning where school zones are along your regular route will help you properly prepare for them by reducing your speed gradually. More children are hit by cars in areas closest to school zones, which stands as an important reminder to be hyper aware of our surroundings.

School bus drivers face special challenges on the road. Bus drivers have a large vehicle that has blind spots all around and requires more time to stop. Other drivers sharing the road with buses should adopt driving habits that help make the roads safer for everyone. Here are a few important rules to remember:

Always maintain a safe following distance. Keep as much space as possible between your vehicle and the bus in front of you. If you’re in front of a school bus, it’s important you’re paying attention to traffic and situations on the road that will prevent you from slamming on your brakes, which could create a situation where a bus driver doesn’t have sufficient braking time to avoid a crash.

In traffic, avoid “cutting” in front of a bus. Many bus drivers leave a safe following distance between the bus and the car ahead of them to ensure a safer environment for passengers. Even if your car can fit into the space, drivers should always avoid cutting in front of a bus or transit vehicle.

Watch for buses that are loading or unloading children. Be prepared to stop when the bus stops. The most dangerous area around a school bus is the space 10 feet around the vehicle since this radius falls into the driver’s blind spot. Be sure to stop more than 10 feet behind a school bus to allow passengers a safe space for entering and exiting.

Never pass a stopped school bus. No matter what state you live in, it’s illegal to pass a school bus that has stopped to load or unload children. This rule includes passing a bus from either direction, so any time you approach a school bus that has stopped to pick up or unload children, you need to stop as well.

Back-to-school time is busy for parents, children and bus drivers, so each one must do their part to help make the roads safer and look out for others around them. Did your family welcome a new driver into the fold this summer? Summer months, specifically the period between Memorial and Labor Days, are historically the most dangerous for teen drivers, with the highest percentage of motor vehicle collisions. The roads are busy with vacationers, college students home from school and teens as they travel between summer jobs and social activities. As summer comes to a close, and young adults head back to college, we wanted to offer some automotive tips to keep newer drivers, and everyone else, safe on the road.

For parents of teen drivers, we offer a few tips that aren’t vehicle specific. Take advantage when you see cheaper GPS prices, and buy one for your teen’s car so they won’t need to use their smartphones for directions. Or, if they’re going to use their smartphones, ensure they’ve downloaded an app that gives directions verbally and does not require the driver to look at their phone/map. If your children want to head to a summer concert or beach, offer to drive with them before to practice the route. Planning the trip in advance, having directions or knowing your route will ensure the main focus is on driving. While it might not make perfect, practice builds experience and skills that teen drivers desperately need.

Preparing the vehicle itself is a good lesson learned, as rising temperatures can be tough on a vehicle, so keep the car’s owner manual close by. Keep the list for colder months, as many still apply.

Test the vehicle’s battery. Hot weather can strain batteries, so if the vehicle’s battery is more than three years old, test it at a certified vehicle repair shop. Also, get an oil change. This is an area to never put off on the list of things to do. Ensure that your tires are in good condition as this is critical to the safety of your vehicle; hundreds of fatalities may be due to tire failures annually. Not sure about your tires? Bring your vehicle in for an inspection.

Monitor fluid levels. Too little engine coolant/antifreeze can lead to overheating. Replenish brake, power steering and windshield washer fluid while you’re at it.

Make mom proud and keep a basic roadside emergency kit in your car. This should include roadside flares (1-2), jumper cables, a flashlight with fresh batteries, paper towels, extra washer fluid, antifreeze and a small first aid kit. Safe driving leads to more time to enjoy the freedom that comes from driving your vehicle. We have an obligation to look out for one another on the road, so remember to do your part!

Summer means one thing when it comes to your vehicle: Road Trips!

We’re seeing a little more freedom to move around the country this year, so whether you are planning a trip to the mountain or a trip to the beach, here are some tips to make sure you are prepared, and your summer road trip is the best it can be.

Along with the household essentials, don’t forget to pack an emergency kit. Move the beach gear over to make room for the roadside emergency kit. Even if you’ve prepared your vehicle for summer travel, it never hurts to have a “just in case” kit in your trunk. Your emergency kit should include:

Jumper cables in case you or someone else needs a jump start
Flashlight
Emergency flat tire repair and/or spare tire
Gloves, blankets and towels
Hazard triangle, road flares, brightly colored distress sign, or “Help” or “Call Police” flag
Screwdrivers and wrenches
First aid kit
Cell phone and charger
Water for both the car radiator and your family
High-calorie, non-perishable food

If you are a family who plans on traveling with kids, you should remember these important tips that could also help your kids become safer drivers in the future:

Always use proper safety restraints for all occupants
Use the long drive as teaching moments about safe driving
Pack a cooler with healthy snacks like water, fruit, nuts and granola (and maybe a handheld vacuum if we are being honest)
Stop every few hours to let the kids stretch their legs

Adults should take the time to exit the vehicle and stretch too. If you become drowsy, don’t hesitate to pull over to a safe location and rest until you feel able to continue the drive. Allow the kids to use electronic devices to help keep away the boredom (and “are we there yet”) on the long drives, as long as it’s not distracting to the driver.

Make sure to check and stock trunk supplies twice a year (that’s a good time to toss those old granola bars) and remember to never leave on a road trip with your vehicle’s “check engine light” or “malfunction indicator light” lit up. If you take these precautions, you and your vehicle might be happier on the roads this summer. Summer Drive Time

In the late spring, the weather has turned consistently nicer and we want to get ourselves and our vehicles out of hibernation. While the PNW can tease us with short stretches of summer-like weather, we know we aren’t quite there yet. In the meantime, while we wait for real summer, here are a few car care tips to get your vehicle ready to enjoy the warmer weather.

Wash and wax.

If you haven’t done so yet, give your vehicle a good scrub! Winter can be hard on the body and paint of your vehicle. All the salt and grime from the winter builds up, especially if you have driven over the mountain passes. Now is the perfect time to clean all that winter gunk off. Don’t forget to wash the wheel wells out (use a tire brush to really get in there) and hose off the undercarriage as best as you can. Once you’re done, a good coat of wax or a clay bar will help extend the life of your paint as the hot summer sun approaches. If your vehicle needs more detailing than you are comfortable with, seek out a professional detailer service. You will feel like you are back in a brand new auto without that brand new payment.

Clean the inside, too.

Cleaning the inside won’t make your vehicle run better, but it will create a more enjoyable environment. Just like the body of the vehicle, interiors get neglected in the winter. Clean it out, put some high quality vinyl or leather treatment on the dash to keep it from cracking from the heat of the sun as it beats through the windshield. If you tote around extra shoes or ice scrapers or snow brushes just in case, put those away until you need them again. It’ll feel better to drive around in a neat and clean carriage.

Inspect your wiper blades.

The winter ice and cold degrades the wipers rapidly, and spring in the PNW will bring plenty of rain showers. Don’t wait until you can’t see to replace your wipers. They are affordable and easy to install. If you are having trouble installing them, most auto part stores will install them for you at no charge if you ask nicely.

Check alignment and suspension.

Mother Nature can really do some damage to our roads in the winter months. If you’ve encountered potholes, chances are your car could use an alignment. If you’ve driven in Western Washington, you have definitely encountered potholes. Aside from that jarring feeling of hitting a pothole, the action can cause alignment issues which will wear out your tires quickly. If you feel your vehicle drifting to the left or the right, or if your steering wheel is not centered when you are driving down a flat, straight road, that is a sign that you likely need an alignment. Suspension checks are something that you can ask a trusted, experienced mechanic to check for you.

Set your tire pressures.

Temperature changes make your tire pressures fluctuate. Now that the cold has begun to subside, and temperatures are rising, check your tires and set them to the appropriate pressure using the pressure stated in the door jamb of your vehicle, not what is on the sidewall of the tire. This will improve your fuel mileage and give you longer tire life.

Check under the hood.

If you’re not comfortable doing this, then make an appointment to have a mechanic do a basic check, but don’t feel intimidated opening that hood and familiarizing yourself with what lives under there. Once open, if you see belts and hoses that are cracked or frayed, have them replaced immediately before it becomes a problem. You can also look for leaks, and if you notice wet spots on the engine, that’s very likely a sign that something is wrong. A visual inspection can help prevent issues before they become a big problem.

Memorial Day, Remember And Honor

Memorial Day, which is celebrated on the last Monday in May, honors service members who have died in military service to the nation. The holiday has roots dating back to the post-Civil War era, when citizens would informally create spring flower memorials on the graves of fallen soldiers.

On May 5, 1866, the town of Waterloo, New York, formalized this ritual and hosted a city-wide “Decoration Day,” encouraging its citizens to create memorials on soldiers’ graves with flags and flowers. A few years later, in 1868, Gen. John A. Logan declared that the first-ever national Decoration Day should take place on May 30, as the date was a neutral day for both sides of the Civil War to honor their fallen soldiers.

Over the next few decades, the day transitioned from being called Decoration Day to its current name of Memorial Day.

In 1968, Congress passed the Uniform Monday Holiday Act, which established Memorial Day as the last Monday in May instead of a set calendar day, and because it is a 3-day federally recognized holiday, oftentimes the term “Memorial Day Weekend” is used. Whether one day, or three, there are some ways to recognize and honor those who have passed on while serving our country.

You and your family can get in the habit of participating in the National Moment of Remembrance at 3:00pm on Monday. You could opt to visit a military cemetery or memorial (while keeping a safe, social distance!). We are fortunate to have a number of state and national veteran’s cemeteries in the Western Washington region. Whether you have a loved one buried there or not, honoring their service and sacrifice is a touching and important gesture as a citizen in a free country. Finally, you could consider displaying the U.S. flag at your home.

Happy National Car Care Month

In April, as winter comes to an end, it is time to get your vehicle ready for spring driving and summer road trips. Since April is designated National Car Care Month, it is especially important to make sure your tires, brakes and windshield wipers are ready for the rain, and take care of any issues that may have occurred or been ignored during winter.

There are a number of things you can do to make your reentry into Springtime better for your vehicle. The first is a good old fashioned oil change. This should be done more frequently than just every April. How often you need to change your oil really depends on your driving habits. Old recommendations had oil changes every 3,000 miles, but engines today have been developed to go longer without the oil change. If you only do mild driving in a modern vehicle, which consists of open roads, no traffic, steady speeds, and minimal braking, you can go longer between oil changes. Oil needs to be changed more often if you deal with stop and go traffic, cold temperatures, a lot of idling, dusty road conditions, and a lot of short trips.

You’ll also want to maintain your vehicle’s cooling system. The cooling system is not just your radiator and coolant levels. It is also the fan, thermostat and water pump. Regular maintenance of your coolant system is important for your engine to run properly as the coolant is what draws the heat off the engine and aids in preventing your car from overheating along with all of the other components. You will need to have the system flushed and replace the coolant at specific intervals. For routine maintenance check the coolant levels to ensure they are full.

Finally, the battery terminal should be cleaned. The battery is a key component, and more often than not, people don’t give their battery terminals any kind of thought until something goes wrong. Your battery terminals are what allow your battery to power your car’s electrical components. If they become worn out or corroded it can cause problems with the way your car runs. Did you know that February, most commonly known as the month of love thanks to Valentine’s Day, and the focus on heart health awareness, also hosts….National Battery Day?

While some of these “National Days” can be a bit much, National Battery Day, February 18th, is a good reminder to check your vehicle’s battery. What should you look for, you ask?

Knowing when to replace your vehicle battery can be tough since some of the signs aren’t incredibly visible at first. If your battery needs to be replaced in your luxury performance vehicle, one or more of the following may be true:

You require frequent jump-starts.
Your headlights are dimmer than usual.
You notice unusual power fluctuations.
You have trouble turning the engine on or notice a long turn-over time.

If you notice any of these signs or others, you’ll probably need the battery replaced in your vehicle, and the expert technicians at Rolf’s Import Auto Service can respond, diagnose, and have you on your way for another 4-5 years.

Like people, vehicle batteries age over time and have a finite lifespan. Even in ideal operating conditions, batteries gradually deteriorate until they can no longer provide enough power to start an engine. Automobile usage patterns also contribute to battery aging, and in the last year, many vehicles have remained idle more than they’ve been on the road. Vehicles driven mostly on short trips may not allow the battery to fully recharge, and batteries in vehicles parked for extended periods naturally self-discharge.
